West Ham Set To Squeeze Another Through The Door Before The Transfer Window Closes

|

There’s no doubting that the madness that has been the summer transfer window, has been an entertaining period of time for West Ham United supporters.

This afternoon, at 17:00 hours, the summer transfer window will slam shut, all the wheeling and dealing will have been concluded and it will be time to focus on the coming season, starting with the opening fixture away to Liverpool, on Sunday.

But, the West Ham support will be keen to see if the club can squeeze through one, or maybe two more deals, thereby completing a remarkable summer.

This morning, there is speculation appearing in the news source, the Telegraph, suggesting that the Hammers might make a late bid for a Premier League title-winning midfielder.

According to our source, the club are showing an interest in the Chelsea midfielder, Danny Drinkwater.

Drinkwater was part of Leicester City’s surprise title-winning side but his move to Stamford Bridge, instead of seeing his career prosper, has seen it stall.

Appearances in the Chelsea starting eleven have been scarce and the feeling amongst the media hacks is that a move could be on the cards.

However, if West Ham are to conclude the deal, they will have to beat both Crystal Palace and his former club, Leicester City, in concluding a deal.

Here at Vital West Ham, we’re of the opinion that acquiring Drinkwater would be a positive move, at 28-years-of-age he still has several years of his career to offer. His attributes, in midfield, where he is a proven ball-winner and quite capable of getting a quick passing game going, would add something to the squad.

However, all we can do is sit and wait and see.

Could, come 17:00 hours tonight, Danny Drinkwater be a West Ham United player?

It is, in our opinion, not beyond the realms of possibility.
