West Ham paying close attention to £23.4m-rated 22-goal ace ‘inevitable’ will leave – report

West Ham are paying close attention to Yacine Brahimi’s situation, as it is ‘inevitable’ the Algerian winger will leave FC Porto this summer, according to O Jogo.

The Portuguese outlet note that Brahimi appeared to wave his goodbyes to an empty Estadio do Dragao over the weekend, as he returned to the field long after the final whistle was blown to take several photos with just his family by his side.

Brahimi’s contract with Porto is due to expire next month, at which point he will be free to personally negotiate his next adventure, as he continues to represent himself.

O Jogo believe Porto will likely make an official announcement following the Portuguese Cup this weekend declaring Brahimi’s exit after five years at the Liga NOS outfit, and it will either be the Premier League or Ligue 1 where he ends up.

It is said that Olympique de Marseille and we are ‘attentive’ to the winger’s situation, and that the 29-year-old has never hid his desires to one day play in England or return to the country of his birth, France.

Brahimi has also long been a target of the Irons, as O Jogo had claimed at the start of the 2018/19 campaign that we held talks with Porto to discuss a move, but the two-time European Champions were demanding we met his release clause, despite the 5 ft 7 winger entering the final year of his contract.

Now that the £23.4million-rated forward is soon-to-be a free agent, he would be a wise signing for Mario Husillos – providing the Paris-born forward does not demand an excessive wage package – as he was involved in 22 goals across all competitions this season.

His ten goals scored in the Portuguese top-flight also placed him joint-14th overall, and third for Porto.
