West Ham make bold demand for £54million man – report

|

West Ham have demanded that Anthony Martial is included in any deal taking Issa Diop to Manchester United, according to the Telegraph.

The Red Devils have previously offered £45 million and a player for the Frenchman, as reported by Sky Sports, with ExWHUEmployee adding Phil Jones was the player they wanted to use as bait.

The Hammers turned down that offer, coming back with the proposal that Martial is a part of any deal that occurs.

However, this is more to keep United away from Diop than an effort to bring in Martial, according to ExWHUEmployee.

The insider claims the Hammers knew they wouldn’t be able to get the Frenchman, who is rated at £54million on Transfermarkt, with the demand being made as a sign to United that Diop isn’t for sale.

This is something which will please many West Ham fans, as it indicates their club is fighting the advances of a top-six club – something they can arguably be accused of not doing enough over the years.

There have been numerous incidents in the past where one of the Hammers’ best players has been poached by a big side relatively easily.

It is highly encouraging that won’t be the case this time around, as West Ham continues to strive towards bettering itself.
