In a matter of days, the January transfer window will open and David Moyes will have the opportunity to add to the Hammers squad.

Today, the name of another possible acquisition is being championed by the English media.

Lurking in the pages of the respected news source, The Guardian, is the inference that West Ham United are interested in the Borussia Dortmund forward Andre Schurrle.

The 27-year-old, a German international, has previous experience of playing in the Premier League. Schurrle was once on the books of Chelsea where he had an indifferent time. The German failed to establish himself as a regular at Stamford Bridge.

Schurrle has a decent turn of space and his skills could serve West Ham United well as they see to climb away from the relegation zone they are hovering so perilously close to at the moment.

Here at Vital West Ham we`ll keep an eye out for any further speculation relating to this subject matter.
