West Ham Linked With Capture Of Italian International But…

So far, the 2018 summer transfer window has been an interesting one for supporters of West Ham United Football Club.

After recruiting Manuel Pellegrini as the new manager, the board have backed up their summer promise to spend heavier than they have ever done in a transfer window by bringing in several players, one of who, Issa Diop, saw the club break their record transfer fee.

But, it would appear the summer spending spree is far from over.

According to the news source, the Express, which has picked up on something in the Italian media, the Hammers are in talks to bring Antonio Candreva to the club.

Candreva, currently on the books of the Serie A side Inter Milan, is a winger who, during his career, has starred for Italy on the international stage.

The suggestion is made that the Italian could offer cover for the injured Manuel Lanzini as he is also able to play as a midfielder as well as a winger.

However, our main reservation over the deal relates to the age of the player.

At 31-years-of-age, Candreva is no spring chicken and adapting to the rigours of the Premier League could be too much to ask for.

But that’s only my view, what’s yours?

Would he be a solid addition to the squad or do you have your reservations?
