If, as it looks likely now, West Ham United do manage to retain their Premier League status, it is essential that the Hammers recruit wisely, when it comes to players, this summer.

Already, speculation is linking the club with possible targets with one of them being an Argentine midfielder.

The player supposedly identified as an improvement to our squad is Rodrigo Battaglia, a 26-year-old who is currently on the books of the Portuguese side, Sporting Lisbon.

According to the news vehicle, O Jogo though, West Ham United will face opposition for the player who is rated around the £27 million bracket.

Our referenced source is implying that the Italian trio of Napoli, Roma and Inter Milan are all interested in acquiring the services of the midfielder.

If the Hammers can persuade Battaglia to make the move to East London it`ll be a real coup.
