With David Moyes having previously decreed that he believes the midfield unit needs strengthening at the club, during the January transfer window, potential arrivals at the club are generating numerous column inches in the media.

The latest possible candidate to become a Hammer, according to the Belgian media source, Nieusblad is Leander Dendoncker.

Dendoncker, just 22-years-of-age, is currently on the books of the Belgian club, Anderlecht, where he has spent his entire professional career.

Rated at £20 million, Dendoncker is a defensive midfielder who has won four caps for Belgium.
