West Ham Linked To Arsenal Midfielder – Thoughts And Views

|

Sunday is, it has to be said, my favourite day for transfer speculation.

It’s almost as if the journalists go into overdrive to fill their column inches.

One piece of speculation that grabbed my eye this morning related to the Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere.

According to the red-top publication, the Mirror, Wilhere, still only 26-years-of-age, is set to leave Arsenal on a free transfer. Seemingly, the new Arsenal boss, Unai Emery, has no plans to use the player in a key role.

Continuing on the theme, another red-top publication, the Sun on Sunday, suggests that Arsenal’s contract offer, to Wilshere, is around the £100,000 a week mark, a drop of 20%, whilst also inferring that West Ham are confident of reaching a deal with the former England international by offering him £130,000 a week.

Trawling through numerous social media posts, it appears that the Hammers support are, generally in favour of a move for the player, with a typical posting reading:

However, some Hammers supporters are aware of Wilshere’s past injury record and feel that any signing should include a compromise:

Here a Vital West Ham, we’re not sure that Wilshere would agree to that one.

But, the last word from the social media goes to an Arsenal fan who has commented:

From an editorial point of view, I’d support a move for Wilshere. Although, in the past he has struggled with injuries, the last two seasons, with one of them being spent at Bournemouth before he returned to Arsenal, have seen the midfielder play more often. His skills, in the middle of the park, I feel, would be hugely beneficial to the side.

But, what’s your opinion on the Hammers making a move for Jack Wilshere?
