West Ham join race for 6-goal ace worth £14.4m – report

|

According to page 47 of today’s printed Mirror, West Ham have joined the likes of Crystal Palace and Brighton and Hove Albion in having an interest in CSKA Moscow attacker Fedor Chalov.

The Hammers need to try and use this off-period in the football season wisely and looking at potential transfers for the next window would certainly be an example of that.

Should we sign him?

Yes

No

The rumours are going to suggest that the club is doing exactly that, too, with Chalov apparently of interest to the Irons, as well as London-rivals Palace and fellow Premier League side Brighton.

A young striker based in Russia, Chalov would prove to be a bit of an unknown quantity if he did arrive at the club in the next transfer market, but he does at least have some decent stats.

As per transfermarkt, he’s got six goals and six assists in all competitions this season and it would appear that he’d be best off playing off of a main striker, where he can pick things up and make things happen, as well as score himself.

Valued at £14.4m, he’s a player that doesn’t seem as though he’d break the bank in terms of trying to get him in, though there is a case to suggest that that figure is not what any side would end up paying for him to get a deal done.

He appears to have caught the eye on these shores, though, and it remains to be seen if the Irons, or any other side in the Premier League, looks to make something happen when the market opens up.
