As the East London and West Essex Guardian reports, we’ve made a bid for Celta Vigo’s, Maxi Gomez. It’s believed that our offer is in the region of €30M, while there’s a €40M release clause in the Uruguayan’s contract.
The 21-year-old enjoyed a tremendous season with Celta Vigo last campaign, having transferred from Defensor Sporting in Uruguay. In 36 league appearances, Gomez contributed towards 23 La Liga goals – scoring 18 and providing five assists.

It’s clear from assessing his goal-scoring record that the 21-year-old is an exceptionally gifted player. He has already attained seven international caps with Uruguay, and he’s regarded for his superb aerial ability. He proves to be a handful for defenders, as he’s often fouled. It’s clear that his potential is vast, he would be an excellent signing.
