West Ham have already identified the ideal replacement for struggling forwards – opinion

|

It’s fair to say that neither Marko Arnautovic or Javier Hernandez have covered themselves in glory this season. They’ve both had their own issues this term, but when it’s come down to it, a lack of consistency has been their core problem.

It’s not an outlandish claim, then, to suggest that offensive reinforcements are needed, and according to the Express, one man that the Hammers are keen on is Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Mitrovic is, of course, on the way down to the Championship with Fulham, and so he could perhaps be tempted by an offer to remain in the Premier League.

In many ways, he’d be the perfect player for the Hammers. A proven goalscorer, with 11 goals in the Premier League this term, he’s offered more going forward than both Arnautovic and Hernandez, and that speaks volumes about his impact, especially for a struggling Fulham team.

Beyond that, at 24-years-old, he’s got his best years ahead of him, whilst he’s still improving every year – with more lethality, energy and technical skill coming to his game as of late.

In truth, West Ham wouldn’t be able to find someone as good as Mitrovic easily, and his proven quality means that bringing him it wouldn’t be a risk on the part of the Hammers. Further quality going forward is needed, and the talented Serbian could provide it. Would he be the flashiest signing? No, but he’d get the job done, and he could be deadly in the West Ham attack with the likes of Felipe Anderson and Manuel Lanzini around him.
