West Ham handed boost with attacker set to return for Bournemouth clash

|

West Ham have shown significant signs of improvement under the guidance of Manuel Pellegrini and last weekend’s 1-0 victory over London rivals Arsenal was arguably the highlight of the club’s campaign so far.

The Hammers are looking to maintain their positive streak this weekend against Bournemouth, who have gone five games without a win in all competitions, and will be the favourites for the clash against Eddie Howe’s side.

However, the potential absence of Marko Arnautovic due to his expected move to Chinese side Shanghai SIPG may leave the Hammers lacking quality in the final third – but Pellegrini’s side have been handed a significant boost.

The Evening Standard says Javier Hernandez returned to training this week after suffering from hamstring and back problems, last featuring in a 2-0 defeat to Watford last month, and could make a return against the Cherries.

While Hernandez has struggled for consistency this season, scoring four goals in 14 games, his natural ability in front of goal could be decisive in the battle with Bournemouth.
