Over the course of this season, there have been question marks over Mark Noble. Is he past his best? Could we bring in better? Is he getting closer to the end of his career?
Throughout all of that, we’ve retained hope that he’s as good now as he’s always been, and his performance against Tottenham proved that. West Ham recently shared a clip of the midfielder in action against the Lilywhites, and his class, poise, commitment and quality was on full display throughout the game.

In truth, it was a game that Noble in his prime would have been proud of. He controlled the opponents, he dominated the game, and so much of what he did would have been given rave reviews across the country if Paul Pogba or David Silva had pulled it off.
Alas, his exploits went under the radar, as they so often do, but we certainly saw it – and we were so delighted.
If nothing else, the game showed just how much he’s still got to give. Sure, he’s not 24-years-old anymore, but that doesn’t mean anything. On his day, we still think that there aren’t many better than him, and that opinion was vindicated over the weekend.
Here’s hoping that he finishes the season strongly, as you’d expect the club to invest in some midfield talent this summer. That said, if his display over the weekend is the benchmark, you’ve got to wonder who we’d be able to bring in that would be an upgrade!
