‘Waste of space’ – These West Ham fans respond to suggestion loan-flop deserves another chance

West Ham  have a promising lad in the youth ranks in Martin Samuelsen, but a string of failed loans has been enough for these fans to suggest that the time is right to sell him on.

The 21-year-old is still owned by the club, but is currently on loan with VVV-Venlo. His time with the Eredivisie side is nearing its premature end, though, as Haugesund Avis expect the midfielder to sign for FK Haugesund in the coming days – again, on a temporary deal.

Should the move go through, it would be the creative youngster’s sixth loan move since 2015, and will signal another step down the footballing ladder for someone who has earned three international caps with Norway.

For Samuelsen’s last game as a West Ham United player, you have to go back to 2015, as the 6 foot 2 midfielder has not worn Claret and Blue for the first-team since facing Birkirkara FC in the qualifying round of the Europa League in 2015.

No minutes in East London for close to four years and a string of failed loan moves have been enough to convince these fans that when Samuelsen returns from whichever side he represents until the summer, it should be for the last time…
