West Ham’s recent win against Gillingham was a big one and it was one that has seen them get into the 4th round of the FA Cup, and they now face a clash against West Brom at home. However, the big news from the Gillingham game was the injury to Ryan Fredericks.
Ryan Fredericks has been ruled out of action until next month after suffering a hamstring strain during Sunday’s FA Cup third round victory at Gillingham.

The Hammers 27-year-old first-choice right-back is one who will be sorely missed as he’s suffered a hamstring injury, although fortunately, it’s nothing more than a strain to the muscle as opposed to a pull or a tear.
The fans have been quick to have their say on the blow to Fredericks. Many of them are calling for the club to bring in a new defender, some have called for a youngster to be given their chance and others have just been quick to wish Fredericks well, although only time will tell how the Irons cope with his absence.

@davidgold pretty vital we get in a decent RB, more so than any other position currently. Loans and has been will cost us points we can’t afford to drop. Zaba/Antonio are not acceptable stand ins. Invest wisely or sink.

Surely just give Ben Johnson a chance? Did well on his debut against city.

The Hammers have got an awful lot of time for Fredericks, and getting him back will be key, but for now, they’re worried about the short-term.
