Today sees reports linking Aston Villa with a move for James Collins. It was thought that Villa may move for Matty Upson, but it looks as though they may go for the cheaper ooption of Collins.
Martin O’Neil is keen to bolster a back line that performed poorly against Wigan on the opening day of the season.
A fee had been agreed for Collins with Stoke, but the move broke down over personal terms. Collins would certainly be tempted with a move to Villa, and may be happy with less cash to join the midlands team.
With the transfer window soon to close there have been few high profile exits from Upton Park, let’s hope it stays that way.
