Unlikely West Ham transfer may be on the cards as £34m man’s future remains in doubt – report

West Ham being linked with Franck Kessie could have been seen as an unlikely move in East London, but we have been given a significant boost, as AC Milan will now consider the Ivorian’s future, according to Calciomercato.

The Italian football news site are now circling claims that they, and Sportmediaset, have been reliably informed that dressing room issues involving the 22-year-old and financial fair play concerns are rapidly shifting the club’s stance.

Only last summer they turned down the opportunity to bank €40million (£34.3m) for the midfielder, when Wolverhampton Wanderers were fluttering their Championship promotion payout, as he is a key part of Gennaro Gattuso’s side and has only missed league games this season through suspensions.

Calciomercato then suggested it could take up to €60million (£51.5m) to convince the San Siro outfit into selling Kessie when they linked us with a move, but the 27-cap ace did not wait long before giving his current side reason to sell for less.

Over the weekend, the central midfielder was involved in a sideline flair-up with Argentine Lucas Biglia when he reacted angrily to being substituted in the 75th minute of the Milan Derby that AC went on to lose.

Corriere dello Sport, via TEAMtalk, are also now suggesting the Rossoneri will be willing strike a deal at the figure Wolves offered last year, as it still represents a €16m (£13.7m) profit on the €24m (£20.6m) they are obliged to pay Atalanta in the summer when his two-year loan expires.

Unfortunately, news that Milan are leaning towards cashing in on Kessie has not gone amiss elsewhere in the Premier League, as Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are both said to be interested in a move.
