The last time I ran an article like this one, I copped for some flak.

It seems that describing the BBC sports pundit, Mark Lawrenson, as a respected pundit, didn’t go down too well with some of the Vital West Ham fraternity.

But, that’s a debate for another day.

Today, I’m simply concentrating on what the TV pundits’ prediction is for the game this afternoon.

Commenting in his regular feature, on the BBC, Lawrenson is of the opinion that the Hammers will win 2-0, remarking:

“West Ham are a better team than they were last season but, at the moment, you would not say the same about Burnley.

“Rather than chasing sixth or seventh place like last season, I think Burnley would be happy if they finished sixth or seventh from bottom this time.”

It’s hard to argue with that, let’s hope Lawrenson has gauged this one correctly, if he has perhaps that respectability will go up a notch!

  • everyone is entitled to their opinion, of course. Lawro speaks his mind, fair do’s. We all have our opinion, too. Come on guys, it’s only a bloody game of football.
