Transfer News: David Moyes could sanction sale of star West Ham performer

|

This season is turning into a real struggle for West Ham and it could quite easily end in the bitter disappointment of relegation, however, whether the Hammers stay up this season or not, they could be set to wave goodbye to one of their most consistent performers over the last few years.

According to Claret and Hugh, The Irons may well find themselves cashing in on the talented Declan Rice. The young England midfielder is reportedly set to be allowed to leave the London Stadium at the end of the season regardless of what division the Hammers are in, although the price tag will be £90m.

Many fans may have an issue with this, but if taking the massive money for the defensive midfield man would allow the Hammers to sure up their defensive line and solve the goalscoring problem then it would surely be a positive move, even if the initial fan reaction is poor.

Should Declan Rice be sold?

Take the money!

No we need him

Obviously the way the rest of the season plays out will greatly impact what happens, and if the Irons go down this season then Rice will likely look for an exit and the Hammers could be forced to sell, but if they stay up and sell him on their own terms it will undoubtedly garner a different reaction from the fans.

The article from Claret and Hugh states:

‘David Moyes would sanction the sale of Declan Rice this summer no matter which division West Ham are in but the offer must be £90m or greater.’

‘The manager believes the sale of a star player can sometimes help a team re-invest to make the squad much better.’

‘The 21-year-old England defensive midfielder has long been linked with a move away to a top-six side but West Ham would let him go on the cheap and will expect a massive offer to come in to sell their prized asset.’

‘It’s almost a given that he will eventually move on thus joining the other Hammers stars who have become big players at big clubs.’
