Yesterday, journeying up to the north-east, I noticed an interesting article in a leading tabloid.

The article in question, published by the Mirror, inferred that this summer could see some unrest amongst the Hammers squad.

It seems that the quest to bring in signings of a better quality than we did in the summer, cost the Hammers dearly when it came to salaries.

The two recent signings, Robert Snodgrass from Hull City and Jose Fonte from Southampton, are, according to our referenced source, on deals that are better than some of those who were already with us are on.

The insinuation being bandied about by our source is that there could be a few players knocking on the managers door stating their case for a deal to match those recently dished out.

It remains to be seen what the response will be from the board.
