Sat in our own comfortable surroundings, we can all question why West Ham has yet to make a splash in the January transfer window.

We can all sit here and point out a few targets West Ham should be after and which players should be brought in, but in reality it isn`t that simple is it, as Sam Allardyce explains,

“I knew it was going to be nearly impossible anyway in this window.”

“As always the window is an impossible scenario to deal with. To have to work in it under the circumstances we have makes it more difficult.”

“You`ve got players who will look around and say ‘Do I want to go to a team in the bottom three? Do I want to go for that fight?`

“Perhaps some of them will say, ‘No, I might as well stay and play the odd game`. You just keep searching and looking.”

It would appear patience is the name of the game but you suspect that ones` patience could, in situations like this, be very sorely tested.
