No points from the first six available has caused the alarm bells to ring at West Ham United Football Club.
Sat at the foot of the table, doubts are starting to creep in as to whether the £100 million spent this summer was spent wisely.
But, in the aftermath of the defeat, at the hands of Bournemouth, our new boss, Manuel Pellegrini, has used the social media to infer things will get better, commenting:
The Boss is hopeful that our first-half display against Bournemouth shows we are closer to getting things right…https://t.co/2I5Aihr0Z1

But, on the back of a second consecutive loss, where do the Hammers support see as the weak point in the side?
Well, according to those who frequent social media, it’s the midfield but in particular our lack of a decent defensive midfielder:
All this talk about our defence, what about the fact we’ve only scored 1 goal in 180 mins and that was a Penalty!? Also, Oxford has said he wants to stay and fight for a place, how about giving him another try at CDM – can’t be any worse

The most important position in the PL is holding midfielder. With a brief interlude for Alex Song we haven't had one since promotion. Should have been first on our summer list, not a 32-year-old garbage afterthought.

That really is worrying. We were shocking in the first half too. No pace no desire. Desperately need a CDM to help the centre backs.

We could have conceded 3! Did he not watch any of our games last season to see the way teams stroll through or bypass our centre midfield? Unless Sanchez has learnt to play football he's done nothing to address this.

?? We were shocking and our midfield is so porous my nan could walk through it

But, is that a view you concur with?
Is our lack of a decent defensive midfielder the reason why our defence is being opened up?
Please feel free to comment in the facility beneath this article.
But, one final comment suggests it may get worse before it gets better with the next fixture being against Arsenal, this coming weekend:
Can’t see it improving this weekend ????⚒
