But could there be more heartache to come?

Although I had my suspicions that a trip to Nottingham Forest was going to be difficult, even more so with our current injury and suspension problem, but what I witnessed today has knocked the stuffing out of me.

Before the game, Sam Allardyce had intimated that some youngsters would play and that it would be the opportunity for them to impress and show what they could do, but if that was the case then our future doesn`t look bright, it looks worrying.

The eleven selected by Sam were never at the races, they never looked as if they were going to trouble Forest but, more worryingly we looked to be so disorganised that Forest could have scored seven or eight.

After the game Sam, upon being interviewed by the media, looked somewhat shell-shocked and almost lost for word and when pressed on the starting eleven selected remarked,

‘What choice (in terms of team selection) did I have? I don’t think I had one. “

‘I make the decisions for benefit of everyone at the football club. We have a huge amount of problems in terms of available players.”

‘We have a League Cup semi-final against Manchester City and the main priority is to get to Wembley. My changes had to be severe today, I didn’t want it to be.’

Manchester City away, in the current form they are in, seriously scares me!
