We already have a busy summer ahead clearing the deadwood and signing players who will improve Manuel Pellegrini’s squad.
West Ham officials will have an even tougher task than they may have originally thought, however, as club insider ExWHUemployee is claiming we only have £25million to play with before the deadwood is sold.
Clearing out the likes of Pedro Obiang, Arthur Masuaku, Lucas Perez and some of the youth players that will never cut the grade is unlikely to add a large amount to the budget, so the futures of key first-team members may now be in doubt.
Marko Arnautovic could easily be linked with a move to China again, while Manchester City are already reportedly keen to steal Declan Rice from us.
Last summer’s spending spree saw our transfer record smashed twice and top talents like Issa Diop and Felipe Anderson were brought to East London, but another eyebrow-raising star such as these will not be possible without significant departures when the season ends.
Here’s how the London Stadium faithful are reacting to the huge transfer budget rumour on social media…
Balbuena was £4m last summer. It’s about buying smart, not necessarily buying big. We need solid full backs, a box to box mid next to Rice and if Arnie leaves a striker (Which we can buy with his sale fee). Our current squad doesn’t need too much added to it, just be injury free.

I am a bit concerned of this talk that our budget for the summer is £25m (before player sales)
Carroll needs replaced and is leaving for free
We need a CM and we will get, £10m? For Obiang. Not very much money really in this day and age.

One season of investment won’t wash and in today’s market 25m won’t even improve our squad that much let alone our 1st team.

If we only spend £25m then next season will be our last season with Rice, Anderson, Lanzini & Diop. They’ll soon realise the lack of ambition and be off.

They realistically need 3 windows of 100m to make any dent or you end up with journeymen and players constantly injured. Now where have I seen that scenario before? ????

Surely cant be true, why bring in Husillos and give him only that in this day and age to compete. Time will tell
— Andrew Greer (@AndrewGreer5) March 8, 2019
I don’t understand how can this be true when we was trying to sign maxi for 45m
— West Ham Hub (@WHUFC_HUB) March 8, 2019
Then we will have 100

Lucas. Release AC. That doubles the initial kitty. The loan players either sell like Fernandes or they stake a claim. I’d much rather see Grady, Coventry & Johnson get games then a sulky Serbian ex Fulham striker!
In Pelle we trust! It’s not what you got it’s how you use it!— Richie (@richiewhite25) March 8, 2019
If that’s true then it’s still £25m more than Spurs

Let’s be honest if they come out and tell everyone the real budget, everyone would be saying oh why are the owners opening there mouths again, or if other teams find out how much we got to spend if we go for there players they will just add extra 10 million on.
