Following the thrilling draw at the Stadium of Light, both managers took the opportunity to speak to the media after the final whistle.

Slaven Bilic, who had seen his side concede a very late equaliser to give Sunderland a share of the spoils, had this to say,

‘We are disappointed to concede a late goal. It was a fair result. It is a point, we wanted three and we were close.

‘They were throwing long balls in, putting the bodies in, from one of those situations they score the goal.

‘We have four points from the last two games, we have an unfinished job to do. We have to pick up more points to be safe.’

Talk of relegation may be off-kilter, but it is essential that the Hammers don`t ease off in the remaining games.

As for David Moyes, it looks as if it`ll need a miracle for his side to avoid relegation and the Sunderland boss had this to say,

‘We need to win games and today we’ve got to take three points. It wasn’t for the want of trying that we didn’t.

I thought the boys played really well, they showed great character to come back.

‘We’ll keep believing while we’re in with a chance, and somewhere along the line hope the football gods will shine on us.’

And on his defender, Billy Jones, who left the field of play looking out for the count, Moyes added,

‘The medical team tell me his head hit the ground and he lost consciousness, a bit of concussion. We’ve sent him to hospital, but I’m sure he’ll be OK.’

Good news all round, next up for the Hammers is a fixture, at the London Stadium, against in-form Everton.
