Strange Thoughts On The Sunday Morning After The Bournemouth Defeat

|

Finding ourselves at the bottom of the table, with no points from two games, does strange things to your mind.

After spending in excess of £100 million this summer, we anticipated that the side would get off to a flying start.

Perhaps we neglected to remember that new signings take time to settle in and a side containing them needs time to gel.

But, returning to those previously mentioned strange things, I noticed something in the Sunday press that intrigued me.

According to the respected news source, the Times, the last incumbent of the managerial hot-seat, before Manuel Pellegrini took over, is amongst the front-runners to take over as the new manager of the USA national team.

David Moyes, who replaced Slaven Bilic, did exactly what he was asked to do during his short tenure as our boss, namely, ensuring we kept our Premier League status.

Which, with those strange thoughts still circulating in my head, begs me to ponder over how Moyes would have fared if he’d been given the opportunity to strengthen the squad as readily as Pellegrini has.

Any thoughts on the subject matter would be greatly appreciated in our comments facility beneath this article.
