‘So trying to keep my feet on the ground’ – Many West Ham fans cannot get enough of overdue update

Manuel Lanzini is in line for his long-awaited return from injury against Fulham, and so many West Ham fans cannot get enough of the news.

Lanzini has not featured for the Hammers under Manuel Pellegrini after he suffered a horrific anterior knee ligament rupture during training with Argentina ahead of the 2018 World Cup.

The 25-year-old was with his national team after being named a part of Jorge Sampaoli’s 23-man squad, but ultimately missed a chance to help his country reach the Round of 16, where they narrowly lost to the eventual-winners France.

Without his creative input, Pellegrini has been forced to jostle multiple formations and players to find his ideal XI, but that will soon be over as the Chilean has confirmed he could return against Fulham later this month.

Speaking of Saturday’s trip to Crystal Palace, Pellegrini noted: “I think and I hope that Manu Lanzini will be ready for Fulham, at least to go to the bench, if he continues improving over the next two weeks.”

A chance to see Lanzini lace up his boots for the first time this season got fans talking…
