Football is a funny old game and has it’s weird and magical ways of making players become heroes in an instant, and former West Ham keeper Adrian is the latest name to experience this feeling.
"We are all very happy for Adrian after his start to life at Liverpool. Obviously, he spent a lot of years here at West Ham. He is a very good goalkeeper and a good player for the squad also." – Manuel Pellegrini pic.twitter.com/yacyyKCLmj

The Spanish goalkeeper was the hero for Liverpool in midweek as the former Hammers shot-stopper made the decisive penalty save that saw the Reds lift the UEFA Super Cup in Istanbul, beating Chelsea to the trophy.
And Manuel Pellegrini has been the latest figure in football to congratulate Adrian on his achievement. However, some West Ham fans weren’t too pleased about their manager praising a player he himself allowed to walk from the club this summer, and supporters took to social media to vent their frustration.
Here is what some West Ham fans had to say on Twitter…
He’s so good we gave him away for free lol

And West Ham should have kept him. Happy for Adrian, even if it is with… Liverpool (ugh).

Adrian is expected to keep his starting spot for Liverpool following an injury to Alisson last weekend.
