Alan Pardew is facing his most difficult time in management, and the pressure mounts as Portugal manager Luiz Felipe Scolari has indicated he is now ready for the Premiership.

His willingness to work with Kia Joorabchian, the man linked to a takeover of West Ham, could be the key to a power shift at Upton Park.

Scolari, who led Portugal to the World Cup semi-finals in the summer, is a friend of British-based businessman Joorabchian.

Scolari: ‘Kia is my friend, we have been talking a lot recently, in fact almost every day.

‘He has already approached me to work for him before and every offer he makes is respectful and deserves my attention.

‘Right now, I am still coaching Portugal but nothing is impossible and certainly no door is closed.

‘I often talk about jobs with Kia, if something was to happen in the future I am sure we would discuss it.’
