Report: West Ham United still not giving up in hunt for £25m Championship ace

|

I said a couple of days ago that the club were getting close to letting a pretty talented player slip through our fingers.

Well, it appears as though we’re still fighting for him according to some reports, and hopefully we manage to pull something out right at the end. Despite a report from The Sun claiming that Crystal Palace were set to win the fight for Brentford forward Said Benrahma, it appears as though there’s still all to play for.

A further report from French outlet Le10sport has claimed that West Ham are still very much interested in pursuing him, although the Championship side are still to receive the £25m asking price that they are asking for, with both clubs reportedly offering less than £20m.

Would you bring Said Benrahma to West Ham?

Yes

No

No

If this is true, I’m glad that we haven’t given up the fight because I do think that Benrahma could be a real game-changer for the Hammers going forward, and as I said a few days ago would go a long way to helping smooth over some of the cracks created by the sale of Diangana, who I think Benrahma is better than personally.

And whilst our budget might not be the biggest, with some reports putting it at around £30m, I think that this is a gamble that the club need to be making if we are to take a step forward as a club, and it would provide that little bit of aggression that I was talking about yesterday when it came to getting deals over the line.

What about you? Do you think that we could sign Benrahma this window?
