Report: Turkish side set to try and end this Hammer’s recent downswing at the London Stadium

|

Looks like there could be another departure from the London Stadium in the coming days.

And hopefully we manage to get a lot more out of the deal than when we sold Jordan Hugill last week.

According to a report from TEAMtalk, Turkish side Fenerbache have made an approach for West Ham United winger Manuel Lanzini. This shouldn’t come as a major surprise to most fans, given that he was named as one of the players that the club were interested in letting go as of a few weeks ago.

Very much an understated signing given his previous clubs when he first joined on loan in the summer of 2015, and then on a £9m permanent deal later on, his form just hasn’t been the same since he suffered his devastating injury ahead of the 2018 World Cup, being reduced to little more than a rotation player during the latter stages of the last campaign.

Should West Ham sell Lanzini?

Yes

No

This all comes back to what I have been saying in recent weeks about the idea of essentially starting the whole club ‘from scratch’ now that David Moyes has kept us up and been given control at what is happening at the club, so we should start building things in his image.

And if he can’t find a place for him, or just simply doesn’t want him in the team, then we should look to sell him on.

And based on what has happened in the past few seasons, you could make the argument that we really aren’t going to miss him that much, so if we can take that money and put it towards other positions on the pitch, then you won’t hear any complaints out of me.
