Report: Tottenham leading the chase for West Ham man, and it’s not who you think

Tottenham Hotspur are emerging as a leading candidate to sign Marko Arnautovic should the Austrian leave West Ham in January.

The 29-year-old forward has been heavily linked with a move to the Chinese Super League with Shanghai SIPG, according to the Evening Standard, or Guangzhou Evergrande, per The Guardian.

Neither outfit have so far been able to agree a deal with the Hammers for the fan favourite, and The Sun are now reporting that the bookies are slashing their odds on Arnautovic moving to Tottenham should he stay in the Premier League.

Spurs are said to be in the hunt for a new striker after losing Harry Kane to injury and Heung-Min Son to the Asian Cup, and were even linked with Andy Carroll as a short-term solution, but Sky Sports News have since been rubbished the speculation.

Instead, it appears the bookies believe Mauricio Pochettino could identify the Austrian forward and offer Arnautovic an escape route out of West Ham by tempting him with Champions League football.
