Report suggests West Ham have named their Declan Rice asking price

|

West Ham could potentially be looking to offload on-field captain Declan Rice next summer for a sum of around £90million, according to Football Insider.

The future of the England international had been uncertain throughout the whole summer transfer window, with the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City all expressing interest in signing him.

The 22-year-old midfielder has started the season exceptionally, helping the Hammers record only one loss in all competitions so far.

He has continuously improved as a player over the years and was also one of Gareth Southgate’s starting members for the England national team at the Euro’s this summer – playing a pivotal role in helping the Three Lions reach the final.

This season Rice has also made more passes into the final third than any other Premier League central midfielder this season, evidently showing how he has stepped up his game.

Previously the Hammers have been reluctant to sell the midfield maestro, but Football Insider have it that West Ham would rather sell now while his value remains high – rather than letting Rice see out his contract.

This won’t come as good news to West Ham supporters, who have grown attached to Rice over the past few seasons. He has played a huge role in helping them get to the Europa League group stages for the first ever time.

According to Football Insider, Rice has also rejected several improved contract offers from the club, which could explain why the club may be willing to get more for their money now in case his value depreciates.
