If indeed there is going to be a race!

With the speculation relating to Sam Allardyce`s contract generating column inches galore, in the press, yet more has appeared this morning.

This time the inference is that if Big Sam`s contract talks do not reach a successful resolution then our owners could well be looking towards the south-coast for a replacement.

Although the name of Paulo Di Canio pops up with alarming regularity, it appears that West Ham could well be set to target the 45 year-old up and coming boss of Brighton and Hove Albion, Gus Poyet

Rumours elsewhere, suggest that Poyet is looking to further his career in the top flight and if Brighton fail to achieve promotion from the Championship, he could well be moving to pastures new!
