Pellegrini reveals his extra motivation in quest for West Ham to beat Liverpool

|

We’re all hoping for a win against Liverpool this evening as we look to improve our Premier League form, and manager Manuel Pellegrin is, obviously, eager to achieve that result for the same reason.

However, he’s also revealed an extra motivation – and it surrounds his old club. According to Goal, he’s revealed that he wants to win to give former club Man City a hand in their quest to beat Liverpool to the Premier League title.

He said: “If we win I will be very happy for our club first, because we need a good performance against the leaders. After that if we can give a hand to Manchester City, it’s not our problem, but of course, I am a fan of Manchester City also”.

Liverpool and Man City are, of course, the two teams vying for the title at present.

Obviously, Pellegrini’s number one priority is to help his current team, but perhaps that extra motivation will add a bit of extra reason for the Hammers to impress this evening.

To be honest, we need everything that we can get if we’re to have any chance of beating the Reds. They’re in brilliant form, and we’re not doing so well, and so if Pellegrini uses this to help motivate his players, we’re all for it.

Still, you’d hope that Pellegrini – and the players – will have motivation enough to get a good result. Another poor one and we’re back in trouble – and so we can’t afford anything but a decent display.
