‘Our best signing this season’: Many West Ham fans heap praise on heroic display from Pellegrini addition

West Ham secured their second win in a row on Tuesday evening by sweeping aside Cardiff City at the London Stadium, having previously eased their way past Newcastle United at the weekend.

The Hammers faced a much tougher task against the Welsh side than they did on Saturday in Tyneside as Cardiff put in a resilient performance and it took Manuel Pellegrini’s team until the second half to finally break the deadlock.

Goals from Lucas Perez and Michail Antonio gave the Hammers a comfortable cushion in the second period but a clean sheet was stripped away in the dying moments due to Josh Murphy’s consolation – which was harsh on one player in particular.

Lukasz Fabianski stood out once again after saving a first-half penalty to deny Joe Ralls and kept the scores level heading into the break, which proved to be crucial at the final whistle as a goal at that time for the visitors would have led to a much different game.

Many fans took to social media to praise the former Swansea City man and we have gathered some of their reactions below.
