Opinion: West Ham could improve their form by utilising attacking duo together

|

A lot of West Ham fans are getting very frustrated at the moment. The Hammers are currently winless in six and are struggling to get back to winning ways, even if they did rally in the last 20 minutes of their 3-2 loss to Newcastle on Saturday to score twice.

Now, though, it could be time for Manuel Pellegrini to make some changes ahead of the Irons next game in the Premier League on Saturday against Burnley away at Turf Moor. Whether or not the Chilean gaffer is prepared to change his system is yet to be seen, but changes are certainly needed.

Be it the personnel he opts to start with or the shape in which he starts with, it looks a lot like some sort of change is required to get this West Ham side back to winning ways, and what we think should happen is a change of system with one fringe man coming into play.

With the likes of Felipe Anderson and Manuel Lanzini both failing to deliver on the goals front and Sebastien Haller doing the best with a lack of service, bringing in another striker for the Frenchman to play off of could be the way for the Hammers to go.

When at Eintracht Frankfurt last season we all saw how effective that Haller could be as he combined with Luka Jovic (WhoScored), and whilst we don’t think Albian Ajeti will be set for a big-money move to Real Madrid at the end of this season, he could be the man to get Haller going for the Hammers.

Ajeti hasn’t had much of a look in this season, the Swiss striker has featured on just three occasions for the Irons in the Premier League for a combined total of 64 minutes and is yet to score his first West Ham goal, but play him in a two-man strike partnership and that could be set to change.

Should Haller and Ajeti start together?

Absolutely, two up front!

Absolutely not, it wouldn't work!

Both Haller and Ajeti came from sides that jse two up front in tandem with each other. For Ajeti it was at Basel where he played alongside Ricky van Wolfswinkel, whilst Haller linked up with Jovic, and playing the two together looks like a change worth making, as things surely can’t get even worse considering the Hammers are already winless in six.
