Opinion: Significant report highlights the brilliant work done by the West Ham board

|

We haven’t always been entirely happy with West Ham’s transfer business, but last summer, the Hammers certainly made a few good deals. Many of our summer recruits have gone on to be crucial under Manuel Pellegrini, and Felipe Anderson has been one of the best.

The winger has offered tremendous quality down the flanks for us, with his great technical ability and agility, and his overall work rate has been surprisingly good too.

It’s not just us that have realised that too, it seems. According to Sky Sports, Real Madrid are to consider Felipe Anderson as an alternative to Chelsea’s Eden Hazard, if they aren’t able to sign the Belgian.

Anderson was brilliant over in Italy prior to moving to England, and he’s only gotten better this year, and so it’s a wonder why its taken this long for a team like Madrid to be interested. Their interest is certainly justified though, given how good Anderson has been in London.

The mere fact that Real Madrid – arguably the biggest team on the planet – are watching our player is a testament to his quality, and even more so, it’s a testament to how brilliantly we did to bring him in.

We aren’t expecting a move to come to fruition, but if it did, you’d expect the Hammers to demand huge fee to sell him, which would be another big win for us.

Either way, this is good for us. Sure, we don’t want anyone to be thinking about taking our player, but this just shows the level that we’re now at. And long may it continue!
