Opinion: Leicester City are a perfect example of where West Ham should be

|

At the start of the season, both West Ham United and Leicester City were two sides being tipped as potential candidates to not only have great seasons but to potentially gatecrash the Premier League’s top six and make it into Europe for the 2020/21 season.

That feeling wasn’t just felt amongst a group of fans, though, as Harry Redknapp also claimed as such when talking to TalkSPORT, however, after the Irons played the Foxes on Wednesday night the gap in quality on and off the pitch was blindingly clear.

Leicester City are 3rd in the Premier League, are playing incredibly well and have made winning games a regular thing and have been possibly the best recruiters in England for a while now, and it’s starting to show as the league table now reflects how well they’ve been run.

However, over at West Ham, despite having a lot of talented players and starting the season with a former Premier League winner in Manuel Pellegrini, the Irons are in a relegation battle and could start next season in the Championship.

Meanwhile, Leicester will almost certainly be in the Champions League, and after getting battered 4-1 by Rodgers side even after Jamie Vardy came off injured just shows the pure difference in quality between the two sides both on and off the pitch.

Will Moyes turn our season around?

Yes

No

Over at the London Stadium, the Hammers are a complete circus. From the players on the pitch all the way up through to Sullivan, Gold and Brady. If the Irons had the Srivaddhanaprabha’s in charge then you’d imagine that West Ham would be in a much better position from both a financial and a footballing sense, and the longer this goes on the closer the Hammers will get to being unsalvagable.
