Opinion: Is 20yo £720,000-rated ace the missing piece to Manuel Pellegrini’s West Ham puzzle?

|

Manuel Pellegrini is a superb manager and has done a great job at West Ham turning them into a side that belongs in the top half of the Premier League, however, with a few gaps in the squad from a depth perspective, the Hammers could still do with a few finishing touches.

One of those gaps comes out on the wing, and one of the players who could quite easily fill that particular gap is a man that is currently under contract at West Ham, the young loanee Sead Haksabanovic. The five-time Montenegro international is currently on-loan at Norrkoping, and is doing a stellar job.

When looking at the 20-year-old’s recent form, it will come as a brilliant read for a lot of West Ham fans that in Haksabanovic’s last nine games in the Allsvenskan, the £720,000-rated man has bagged an incredible 11 combined goals and assists, stats and valuation via Transfermarkt.

A lot can be said about Grady Diangana and how strong the young English winger has looked at West Bromwich Albion, however, with the club’s other loaned out winger quietly going about his business in Sweden to the point of getting goals and assists at a quicker rate than he’s playing games, eyebrows are being raised.

We’re not expecting the 20-year-old to be re-called anytime soon and sent into the senior dressing room to usurp Andriy Yarmolenko, obviously, the step-up between the Allsvenskan and the Premier League will be massive, but the youngster could well be used to fill a depth gap out wide.

At the moment the wingers at West Ham are Yarmolenko, Felipe Anderson and Robert Snodgrass, so having another wide-man capable of isolating and beating a full-back and scoring goals and getting assists will be crucial, and it looks like Haksabanovic can be that man.
