Opinion: £30m-rated striker would be an excellent addition to West Ham squad

According to various reports, the Hammers could sign prolific Torino striker Andrea Belotti and he would be an emphatic signing for David Moyes.

Reports from the Daily Express, via the Daily Star, suggest that Belotti would be willing to move to the Hammers this January. West Ham were linked with the Italian international back in the summer but a deal never materialised.

His current club, Torino, would apparently be keen to offload their star striker as well, to prevent him from leaving for free in the summer when his current contract expires.

This also means that West Ham could acquire his signature for a cheap fee, with rumours suggesting a fee as low as £15million could be enough to secure his services.

The 27-year-old first signed for Torino in 2015 and has gone on to become one of Serie A’s most consistent strikers, scoring 106 goals in 236 games and boosting his market value to over £30million.

Just last season Belotti provided 20 goal contributions, netting 13 times, in the league and he would provide great competition for the in-form Michail Antonio at West Ham. Antonio is still the club’s only striker and could thrive even more with a challenge for his place.

Belotti’s playing style would also fit the Hammers perfectly, as he likes to make runs for the ball and works hard on the pitch. On top of that, he is physical when playing and is a natural finisher in front of goal.

With the likes of Jarrod Bowen and Said Benrahma surrounding him on the attack, like with Antonio, Belotti could thrive on their service and be an instant hit in the claret and blue shirt.

If West Ham can secure a deal to sign the Italian goal scorer then Moyes could have an excellent addition to his squad, as the club continues to fight for a top-six spot in the Premier League.
