West Ham United captain Mark Noble could retire at the end of next season, according to reports.
Rumours emerged online (via West Ham Gossip) that the 33-year-old veteran midfielder could hang up his boots once the club’s 125th-anniversary campaign draws to a close, bringing to an end a career in East London that started back in 2004.
Noble has become a highly respected figure at the East London club and some believe that he should be placed in the category of ‘club legend‘ when he calls time on his playing career.
Will Mark Noble retire in the summer?
Yes
No
During his time at Upton Park and the London Stadium, Noble has scored 60 goals and provided 59 assists in 497 appearances for the Hammers and played almost 40,000 minutes, as per TransferMarkt.
Unsurprisingly, supporters paid tribute to Noble and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan said that he is “not mentally ready” to see Noble call it a day, while another said that he will “miss him when he’s gone”.
As much as everyone likes slagging him off we will miss him when he’s gone

Say what you want about his recent performances for West Ham, it will be a very sad day when Mark Noble hangs up his boots.
Including his time in the academy he has spent 20 years at this club…He will go down as a legend for me, he is Mr West Ham! ❤️⚒ #WHUFC #COYI https://t.co/QZpPrNqKNv

Mark Noble was in the team the first time I ever went to see West Ham.
I could count the number of times probably on both hands I’ve been to West Ham and he’s not played.
I am not mentally ready for this 😢 https://t.co/FGNo80TLnk

As soon as this happens, we need to give him a lucrative coaching contract. The club needs him.
