The right-back made Manuel Pellegrini’s first starting Xl in the build-up to the 2019/2020 season in Austria on Thursday afternoon.
As goals from Carlos Sanchez, Michail Antonio and Issa Diop gave the Hammers a 3-2 victory, Johnson played 68 minutes at left-back in the absence of both Aaron Cresswell and Arthur Masuaku.
