News: West Ham man discusses his future as loan move nears it’s end

|

West Ham have got many talented players out on loan at the moment, many of them young, up and coming players, but one man who will be keen to get his long-term future sorted out as soon as possible is Jordan Hugill, as the 27-year-old striker is currently in the final months of a loan spell at QPR.

The Championship man was signed by West Ham from Preston North End for a whopping £10m fee back in January 2018 (BBC), although during his time with the Hammers so far he’s struggled for game time and made just three appearances for the club worth only 22 minutes (Transfermarkt), before this season’s loan spell.

Now, though, Hugill has shown that he’s more than good enough to score goals at Championship level, as he’s bagged an impressive 13 goals for the Loftus Road faithful in his 36 appearances so far, including bagging a goal and the first assist of his loan spell during this weekend’s 2-2 draw against Birmingham (Transfermarkt).

Does Jordan Hugill have a future at West Ham?

Yes

No

At the end of this season, the 27-year-old will be set to return to his parent club, though, and with two years left on his deal (Transfermarkt), Hugill’s future will certainly be up in the air, although he’s claimed whilst speaking to the Kilburn Times that he’s not thought about his future as his focus is solely on QPR.

Hugill said:

‘I think they [West Ham] probably know that I’m out doing my work here.’

‘I’m happy with what I’m doing here and I’m totally focused on what’s going on.’

‘Whatever happens at the end of the season or next season will happen and it’s out of my hands so I’m just doing my job which is ultimately playing well and scoring goals which I’ve been doing.’

‘I’ve not thought about anything, to be honest.’

‘I’m kind of just taking everything a day at a time and I can’t focus too much on the future because I’ve still got a job to do here.’

‘The ultimate aim for me is to get QPR as far as I can so I’m not focused on anything else other than QPR at the moment.’
