News: Respected publication suggests how West Ham should approach transfer window

|

Football.London has compiled a list of potential midfield targets for the Hammers.

We currently only have three fit central midfielders, and both Mark Noble and Declan Rice have lost form over the past few weeks leaving us constantly exposed to a relentless barrage of attacks.

One priority in the January transfer window has to be to bring in a new central midfield player, or we could continue to be overwhelmed.

Some of the suggestions include two players who have been linked to West Ham before, and then the other two are brand new suggestions.

Franck Kessie and Charles Aranguiz have been linked to us in the past, and both could add some real dynamism to the side.

For example, Kessie averages 1.6 tackles per game and has also contributed two goals this season.

He could be the box-to-box midfielder that we are crying out for.

Football.London also suggests that we go after Granit Xhaka or Marten De Roon.

Both have Premier League experience and could be an upgrade on what we already possess – Xhaka looks destined to leave Arsenal in January but could want to remain in London, and we would likely be able to match his wage.

De Roon, on the other hand, was at Middlesbrough for the 2016/17 season, where they were relegated, but he stood out making 36 appearances and scoring five goals.

Which one of these would you want to sign?

Kessie

Aranguiz

Xhaka

De Roon

Since then, he has also impressed for Atalanta and is a vital part of a side playing in the Champions League.

All of these players are just suggestions, but you would have to think all could improve our midfield – which at the moment is desperately weak.
