News: Ex-West Ham man edges closer to his first gig since Hammers’ axing

|

West Ham fans had a rough time under the management of Manuel Pellegrini this season, despite an impressive campaign in the Chilean’s first season at the club, but now the ex-Manchester City man is an ex-West Ham man too, although it looks like he’s nearing a move to a new club.

After leaving West Ham in a perilous position with relegation looming the fans would have been happy to see the back of Pellegrini, however, the fans now fear that they might go down under David Moyes and they’re no better off, so in hindsight sacking the former Real Madrid man may not have been the smartest decision.

All of that is now in the past, though, and the experienced manager is set to take up his latest job in the dugout, this time back in Spain, as La Cuarta have reported that Valencia are interested in bringing the manager in after they fell to an embarrassing 3-0 defeat at the hands of high-flying Real Sociedad on the weekend.

Was Pellegrini's summer spending good enough?

Yes

No

Nothing is confirmed here just yet, but it looks a lot like the powers that be at Valencia have taken a real interest in Pellegrini, and even his disastrous stint this season with the Hammers hasn’t put them off, leading to the increased talks that ‘The Engineer’ could soon be back in management.

The article states:

‘Peter Lim, the Singaporean owner of Valencia, is a controversial guy, who since he assumed control of the Spanish club has been involved in several controversies.’

‘Precisely, that is one of the reasons why Manuel Pellegrini has not yet delivered a response to the interest of the Che team. the Hispanic team’s sports management made contact with the “Engineer” on Saturday night, after the 3-0 fall to Real Sociedad.’

‘It is true that there is an interest of Valencia for Manuel Pellegrini, it is more already contacted. However, none of the parties have made a decision on this, ”they say in the Chilean coach’s environment.’

‘Apart from the loss to the San Sebastian, the Albino team was thrashed 4-1 by the debutant Atalanta, in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16. A situation that adds to a deep institutional crisis.’
