West Ham have shown huge signs of progression under the guidance of Manuel Pellegrini but may face a stern battle to retain the services of a key player during the January transfer window.
Reports surfaced yesterday that stated an unnamed Chinese club had made an offer of over £35m for West Ham star Marko Arnautovic, offering massive wages to the Austrian international in a move that may be difficult to turn down.
After arriving from Stoke City in 2017, the 29-year-old has quickly become a key figure at the London Stadium and has captured the hearts of supporters in the same way that Dimitri Payet did previously – which has led to fears of deja vu in the transfer market.
While it would likely take a much higher sum for West Ham to accept a sale, player power cannot be overlooked and Arnautovic may have his head turned by the finances on offer – which has led to a variety of reactions from supporters.
We have gathered some of their comments below.
