‘Never coming back’, ‘Bin the geezer’ – A lot of West Ham fans are giving up on struggling star

|

It’s beginning to look like Winston Reid will never return to playing football at West Ham, or anywhere else for that matter. The New Zealander has been out injured since March 2018 and he was meant to be back yesterday evening as the Hammers U23s faced Stoke’s U23s, according to The Evening Standard over the weekend.

It doesn’t look like Reid is going to be playing football again for West Ham’s senior side. He missed the game he was meant to play on Monday night and it’s becoming a case of if Reid will ever play again as opposed to when he’ll play again, and the fans are decisive on what they want to do.

Whilst the centre-back will be desperate to get back on the pitch as soon as possible, it just doesn’t look like he’ll be capable of doing so. Even if he does he’ll be behind Fabian Balbuena in the pecking order and the Paraguayan is firmly 3rd choice at the moment, so a return to the senior side is looking as far away as ever.

The fans all seem keen to get rid of Reid, and whilst that might sound harsh, he just cannot be relied upon given his fitness issues.
