Moyes makes 3 changes, Haller starts & 19 y/o dropped: Predicted West Ham XI vs Spurs – opinion

West Ham United desperately need to turn their season around and face a difficult trip to north London to face Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday.

The Hammers will head into the game on the back of a dismal 2-0 defeat to Wolves on Saturday, where they were well beaten by Nuno Espirito Santo’s side at the London Stadium.

Injuries did play a role in this defeat, but ultimately a lack of attacking prowess and urgency in the midfield was mainly the reason for the loss.

As a result, we believe a similar system that David Moyes has used earlier in the campaign will be pulled out of the hat once again, and this is what we feel he will go with.

Moyes could return to the same 4-2-3-1 system that toppled Southampton 3-1 before the temporary suspension of the campaign, giving them more options in attack and bodies in midfield to cut out the channels.

Unless there is a seriously from now until kick-off, Lukasz Fabianski should keep his place in the side.

After Tuesday’s reports surrounding Jeremy Ngakia, we feel that Moyes will make a statement and drop him from the squad altogether, bringing back in Ryan Fredericks. Angelo Ogbonna should also return to the fold after reports suggested he was in contention to start.

This means that Declan Rice, who deputized in place of the injured Italian centre back last time out, will pair up with captain Mark Noble as the holding midfielders.

Will Jeremy Ngakia start against Spurs?

No

We were debating placing Andriy Yarmolenko and Robert Snodgrass into the fold. As it is the second game back after such a long layoff, we feel that they will not be risked. Michail Antonio and Jarrod Bowen will be the attacking wingers with Pablo Fornals playing behind the returning Sebastien Haller.

Don’t forget, West Ham won here last season and could very easily do it again. For that to happen, Moyes will have to be bolder in his tactical approach.
