It`s fair to say that the appointment of David Moye, on a six month contract, wasn`t greeted with universal acceptance by the West Ham support.

Many felt that it was a short-sighted appointment and that the club had taken on board a manager who is in decline.

However, lurking on the internet is the suggestion that one football pundit believes that Moyes could be gone by January.

Joey Barton, making a living as a football pundit after being suspended as a player, interviewed by the news source, Talksport, remarked,

‘They could be looking for another manager again in January.

‘If they don`t have a positive upturn in performances and results then the January window opens and you go ‘OK, is David going to be our long-term manager? No. Are we going to allow him money to spend? Well, no. Then are we better replacing him?’

‘If somebody else more attractive comes to the market, who is to say West Ham won’t replace David again.

‘It’s clear he wasn`t the fans’ number one choice.’

Is Barton correct?
